TEMECULA

Most people don't get too excited when they have to go to Temecula. But after church on Sunday, we made the trek out there to visit some of Karena's college friends.
But the trip turned out to be a lot of fun. We played "Duck, Duck, Goose" with their young kids. Now, I should let you know that I used to DOMINATE at "Duck, Duck, Goose." But I was no match for these kids. Afterward, we went wine tasting and two different vineyards in the area. Even though it was a hot day, I really enjoyed one of their 2003 Cabernet Port that had a chocolaty flavor to it.
Afterward, we ate at an Irish pub, where we were waited on by an actual Irish waitress with a heavy Irish accent. I had a delicious shephard's pie and Karena had some delicious fish and chips. But the highlight of the dinner had to be the great '80s new wave music they were playing, including Erasure, New Order, Aha, Yaz, Pet Shop Boys, The Cure, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Duran Duran, and of course U2. After all, what's an Irish pub without Bono?

Comments:
enoch and i were just talking about your glorious ipod this evening. out of your 80's list, i only recognized 4 groups -- and have only heard songs from duran duran and U2! oh, i feel so unworthy...

talking bout 80's music, was just at an 80's party last weekend and it was a blast...had to dress up in 80's attire and we listened to 80's music...VH1 last week was playing 4 hours of 80's music videos..how "rad" is that?
