Talk about fighting the power!

As you probably know, the Chinese government has been relocating families and demolishing homes in the name of eminent domain for such projects as the Three Gorges Dam Project and to make way for new shopping malls. But one family's stand against the governemnt has led to this (see picture).

They say they will not move because the government's offer for the house is well below market value and their family has lived there since 1944.

As one blogger put it, "History will remember this picture."

This example of courage in the human spirit reminded me of the 1988 Tiananmen Square protest back in 1989 when this photo was taken of a man standing in the way of oncoming tanks.

History has already remembered that picture.
