NUMB (PART II)
Here's a classic example of how numb (or selfish) I've become.

When told that we were collecting money for the tsunami relief fund, nobody gave. Nobody. But later on in the day, when word was going around that we were all putting in $5 for the $80 million California Lotto drawing today, we had $95 in a few hours, including $5 from me.

What have we become?

Comments:
If anyone wants to give but is isn't sure which organization to give through, my recommendation is World Vision. www.worldvision.org

The Canadian gov't was matching all donations given before this week, including to organizations like World Vision. --N

Well it ma be better that you don't give at work in that way. A. It's not tax-deductable and B. it's harder to track when and how thw money gets to where it's going.

World Vision, I've been told and just read somewhere, is actually better than the Red Cross because a higher percentage of what you give goes directly to helping those in need. Though I think it's good to give to both because they serve different needs.

hey man...don't be so hard on yo self. i'm SURE you were thinking that you'd turn your 5 bucks into a couple million by winning the lotto and donate THAT to the relief efforts! =p
