SUNDAY
Some day of rest this turned out to be! After going to church, we didn't stay for Sunday school so we could go work on Jason. We've been really concerned about him lately since it seems like his body is shutting down one system and one joint at a time. We were able to do some things with him that hopefully made him feel better. We will continue to pray for you, Jas!
Afterward, we drove down to Newport Beach to see one of Karena's co-workers at Hoag Hospital. She had both her knees replaced and was doing great!!! My two cents on that hospital: it is BY FAR the most beautiful hospitals I have ever been to (and I've been to a lot of hospitals). It totally fits the Newport Beach scene -- stylish, luxurious, and trendy. Typical OC. My second thought was how weird the official name of it was: Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian. Why can't it just be Hoag Memorial Presbyterian Hospital? Weird.
Finally, we drove back just in time for dinner with my extended Shen side of the family. We ate Shanghainese food and everybody got to get to know Karena a little better (since that wasn't an option at the wedding). The food was good, and the company even better.
And we made it back home just in time for Alias, Karena's favorite show.
