KOINONIA RETREAT
Greeting from the Koinonia Retreat! This is a retreat like no other CEFC retreat I've ever been on since we're still local (Pasadena at the Harambee Center), we don't have to stay overnight, we have internet access (hence this blog), and it's focused on service to the community (not just locking all of us up in a room for a weekend).
So far, things have been great. I showed up early this morning and was privileged to spend some quality time with fellow Koinonia-ians (?). Also, we helped move a bunch of heavy things (and I do stress the word "heavy") while others sanded the floor to get a house ready for interns to come this summer.
We just finished our 3-month long Bible study on Philippians and I've been struck by the words: Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus (Phil 2:5)
There's nothing that'll teach you about having that attitude of true service quite like doing it.
